Meade 1.25" Mirror Star Telescope Diagonal
MSRP: $49.99
- A 1.25" mirror star diagonal designed for astronomical use
- Can be used in your telescope for daytime viewing, but note the image will be reversed left to right (a mirror image)
- Accepts any 1.25" telescope eyepiece, and fits into any 1.25" refractor or cassegrain focuser
- 90-degree angle for comfortable viewing, especially high in the sky
- Note: a star diagonal is NOT compatible with a reflector telescope due to the length of the optical path through the diagonal
The Meade 1.25" Mirror Star Diagonal diverts the light 90° to the telescope's main tube, permitting a more comfortable viewing position when viewing up into the night sky. A star diagonal is standard equipment with a wide variety of Meade telescope models, including the Advanced Coma-Free LX90, LX200, and LX600 models, but is available here separately as a replacement for any refracting, Mak, or SCT telescope model. Please note a star diagonal cannot be used on a reflector telescope due to the length of the optical path through the diagonal — a reflector will not reach focus when using a diagonal.
When inserted into a refractor or cassegrain telescope, a standard star diagonal will provide an upright image that is reversed left-to-right. If you wish to use this diagonal for distant terrestrial observation with your telescope, it will work (providing an upright image), but keep in mind the image will be mirrored left-to-right.
